In a roundabout way
I traded my married life
For the title crazy cat lady
The traditional role
Was sold as happiness
But didn’t give me security
So understand, I don’t regret
Giving up my faithless husband
As marriage was no guarantee
I am more myself
Thriving as a spinster
Because I didn’t give up on me.
