The law doesn’t stop discrimination
The letter of the law
Requires reasonable doubt
It makes a rule
And hopes compliance
It can deter explicit acts
It often encourages performace
It’s a group delusion in goodness
It’s the polite white lie of inclusion
Sometimes it can lead to punishment
But it has no teeth to stop implicit bias
As implicit means hidden
And hidden things will hide
The law enforces what can be proven
Hidden things aren’t always provable.
