I don’t want to spend my life in bed
This isn’t something I choose
Don’t compare your lack of sleep
Or lack of available hours in the day
To my lack of available energy
A day in bed is nice the first time
But then it becomes a prison
A boring place of emptiness
No happy or sad memories
A waste of time that doesn’t satisfy
After sleeping in, you return to life
You get to accomplish things
While I’m still trapped by fatigue
Nothing to show for my time
And another day lost to tired.
