I didn’t have a father
To shame me into being a lady

To make me sympathize
I only had women
To show me how to exist
And they were strong
More influential than patriarchy
They didn’t make excuses for men
Boys will only be boys
If we let them get away with it
Girls have all the same rights
When we demand them
I know better than to believe
